Yannis Laskos was born in Athens in 1976. He studied fashion design at “Veloudakis Fashion School” and immediately afterwards he worked in the fashion industry as an assistant stylist at Votre Beauté magazine. In 1999 he was awarded in the young Greek designers competition of Madame Figaro magazine and in the same year he worked with Yannis Tseklenis as an illustrator designer.
From 2001 to 2005 he held the position of the main designer in a well-known Greek pret-a-porter clothing company. One year later, Yannis Laskos took over the art direction of the well-known fashion house Konstantinos Melis by Laskos. For 10 years he signed all the haute couture collections presented by the brand. Through his creations the designer redefined the silhouette of the Greek woman. Τheatricality, romance, sensuality, geometry and femininity became the trademark of Yannis Laskos.
Almost all the personalities of the Greek star system have chosen the creations of Yannis Laskos. His creations have also been featured in theatre performances, films, opera, classic ballet, as well as in other events. Magazines and websites of the Greek and international press, have done feature articles about the designer and his work.
Important moments for him are the presentation of the collection “Heresis” at the Foundation of the Hellenic World, the creation of the costumes for the performance “La Sonnambula” at the National Opera House, his collaboration with the American brand Eastpak in 2013, as well as the presentation of his work by the Italian edition of the magazine Vogue.
In 2018 he creates the brand LASKOS, making a dynamic return to the fashion world. In his private atelier space, visitors enjoy his custom made creations as well as the whole ritual of an exclusive creation.
In 2020 he makes his debut on Greek television as a member of the jury – fashion coach for the daily show Style Me Up. A TV show about fashion and make over of players who wish to change their style.
The designer has two permanent collections, Back To Blanche and BLack Edition, which are enriched every year with new designs in white and black.
Design is a mean of expression for Yannis Laskos, so he only designs when he has something to express through his work. The architectural silhouette with a minimalist mood, elegance and sensuality are the elements that characterize the collections.
In spring 2021-22 Yannis Laskos released the first “no season ” limited edition YL collection. Ready to wear high quality hoodies and sweaters, socks, jockey hats, beanie caps, t-shirts, beauty products and home items with the designer’s signature.
